TANGUERA - THE TANGO MUSICAL to Play Au-Rene Theatre 10/21-10/25

By:

TANGUERA - THE TANGO MUSICAL comes directly from a New York run to make its West Coast premiere at the Au-Rene Theatre in Ft. Lauderdale. The musical will play October 21st through October 25th.

Direct from Buenos Aires and New York, TANGUERA is more than just a tango. TANGUERA - THE TANGO MUSICAL tells a seductive tale of love, passion and desire through music and dance. Like all true love stories, TANGUERA is not limited by any language or geographic boundary, but instead, its story finds international acclaim as it is spoken through the movement of the dance.

High-adrenaline choreography and Broadway-caliber sets bring an authentic story from turn-of-the-century Buenos Aires to life on stage. Starring the renowned tango star Mora Goday, this award-winning production recounts the dramatic journey of Gisele, a new immigrant who becomes ensnared in high stakes love triangle. TANGUERA takes the art of Argentine Tango to new levels of artistic achievement. History, humor, drama and sensational dancing meld into a night of Broadway-style entertainment.

Tickets for TANGUERA range in price from $25 to $75 and are available online or through the box office. Performances take place Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, and Sunday at 7:30pm.

From concept to fruition, this Broward Center for the Performing Arts was built with years of passion, planning and dedication. The passion began nearly four decades ago, when Fort Lauderdale's War Memorial Auditorium, built in the 1940s, and the Parker Playhouse, constructed in the late 1950s, struggled to meet the changing performing arts needs of this expanding South Florida cultural community. Recognizing the need for a more viable venue -- one with a much greater seating capacity, spacious backstage and meeting facilities -- and more than one stage, visionaries set forth to turn their dream into reality. Although it would take nearly 30 years, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts opened it's doors on February 26, 1991 offering the community a future of the best in performing arts and entertainment.
