On Wednesday August 28, 2013, SummerStage will present MAC DEMARCO's built by meanred in a FREE SHOW at East River Park, Manhattan. Showtime: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Mac Demarco, a 21-year old Canadian, released his debut album, Rock and Roll Night Club (RNRNC), just a short while ago in the spring of 2012. This album was accompanied by a barrage of bizarrely funny promo videos, wildly unhinged live performances and a not-so-subtle disparate range of promo photos. More recently, Demarco released his second album, 2. As opposed to RNRNC, 2 is a concerted effort to produce a cohesive work that showcases Mac's natural ability as a songwriter, singer and producer. Pitchfork reviewed 2 saying how Demarco "writes about life-- both the heavy moments and the mundane ones-- with economy and newfound grace." Demarco appreciates the work he does and it's obvious he is presenting himself musically in the most sincere way possible, no matter what happens in his wild videos or live shows.
