Stray Cat Hosts One Night Reading Of WOLVES July 30
ONE NIGHT ONLY! THIS SATURDAY Stray Cat hosts a STAGED READING OF STEVE YOCKEY'S NEW PLAY: WOLVES
It's kind of crazy to think the summer's almost over.
Well...not like WEATHER wise...lord knows that may linger until October.
But while our official 10th ANNIVERSARY SEASON (holla!!) doesn't kick off until fall...we figured we'd throw in a little some some extra to get your mind off the heat.
ONE NIGHT ONLY
THIS SATURDAY, JULY 30th
we invite you to join us for the bloodiest staged reading you'll probably ever see.
Steve Yockey - author of last season's crazy-trippy-cool OCTOPUS is going to be in town with us while we attack a workshop reading of his BRAND NEW play...
WOLVES
The skinny:
Ben and Jack are two young men with their own very special way of surviving the perils of modern life. But when their shared psychosis fills up their very small apartment in the very big city and spills out onto the unsuspecting streets, things get messy. Very...messy. A darkly comic predatory fairy tale for adults, WOLVES fuses the worlds of fable and horror into a story about unrequited love, the dangers of storytelling, the virtues of lava lamps and the hazards of a handy axe.
directed by Artistic Director Ron May, WOLVES will feature Drew Leatham (last seen in Stray Cat's ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BIG, GAY DANCE PARTY), Jonathan Furedy (last seen in Stray Cat's OCTOPUS), Adam Pinti (fresh out of ASU with his MFA and we snatched him up quick-like) and Yolanda London (who if you saw THIS at Actors Theatre or AVENUE Q at Phoenix Theatre or LADY DAY at Black Theatre Troupe last season...you know what's up.)
WHERE: Where we always are. Tempe Performing Arts Center.
WHEN: Saturday, July 30 (THIS SATURDAY!) at 8pm.
Stick around after the performance for a talk-back with the playwright, director and cast.
HOW MUCH: 5 bucks.
No cards accepted at the door - this event is cash/check only!
RESERVATIONS: Send an email with your NAME and NUMBER OF TICKETS DESIRED to: tickets@straycattheatre.org
