As BroadwayWorld.com previously reported, the Tony-winning star of OTHER DESERT CITIES, Stockard Channing took leave from the production on November 18 to undergo arthoscopic knee surgery on November 21. Understudy Lauren Klein has been performing the role of 'Polly' while Channing recovers.

Lincoln Center today stated that "Stockard Channing returned to 'Other Desert Cities' beginning with the Friday evening, November 25 after having arthroscopic surgery on her knee earlier this week. During the next week her understudy, Lauren Klein, will play the role of Polly Wyeth at the Saturday, November 26 matinee and the Wednesday, November 30 matinee performances."

Lincoln Center Theater announced earlier this month that it had extended the run indefinitely of its critically acclaimed production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, on Broadway at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street). Originally scheduled to run through Sunday, January 8, tickets are now on sale to OTHER DESERT CITIES through Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Booth Theatre box office, telecharge.com or by visiting www.lct.org.

Currently starring Stockard Channing, Rachel Griffiths, Stacy Keach, Judith Light and Thomas Sadoski, OTHER DESERT CITIES has sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by David Zinn, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Jill BC DuBoff and original music by Justin Ellington.

In OTHER DESERT CITIES, Brooke Wyeth (Rachel Griffiths, in her Broadway debut), a once promising novelist, returns home after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former members of the Reagan inner-circle (Stockard Channing and Stacy Keach), her brother (Thomas Sadoski) and her aunt (Judith Light). When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past. LCT gratefully acknowledges that Ms. Griffiths appears in OTHER DESERT CITIES with the permission of Actors Equity Association.

OTHER DESERT CITIES is performed Tuesday evenings at 7pm, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm.
