By:

After charity shows in Los Angeles and New York and an appearance at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry, Steve Martin will be hitting the road in support of The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo, which currently sits at the top of the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart. Martin will perform with the Steep Canyon Rangers at New York City's Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, October 6 at 8pm.

The opening act for the evening will be Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys.

Tickets are priced at $55 - $75, and may be purchased by calling 212-247-7800 or visiting www.carnegiehall.org.

After a successful run with a limited release, multi-talented Grammy® and Emmy® winning actor/comedian/musician and bestselling author Steve Martin released the album on Rounder Records on May 19, 2009. Rounder also released a deluxe pop-up version of the album, on June 16. Martin will perform on "The View" on October 6th in support of the album.

The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo (Rounder) has reached #1 on Billboard's Top Bluegrass Albums chart. In support of the album Martin has appeared on "The Prairie Home Companion," "American Idol's" season finale, "Saturday Night Live," "Good Morning America," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "CBS Early Show," "Tavis Smiley" and "Late Night With David Letterman." All of the songs on The Crow were written by Martin.

Steve Martin is a three-time Grammy® winner, the latest for his collaboration with Earl Scruggs on Foggy Mountain Breakdown (2001) and two for comedy albums Wild and Crazy Guy (1978) and Let's Get Small (1977.) After playing on the Grammy® Award winning Foggy Mountain Breakdown with Earl Scruggs, Martin began writing a string of new banjo songs, some with lyrics and some as instrumentals. An album 45 years in the making, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo features special vocal appearances by Mary Black, Vince Gill, Tim O'Brien, Dolly Parton and instrumental guest spots by Earl Scruggs, John McEuen, Stuart Duncan, Jerry Douglas, Pete Wernick and Tony Trischka. The Crow was recorded in Dublin, Hollywood, Nashville and New Jersey.
