Steve Solomon Returns to Bristol Riverside Theatre, 1/3-6

By:

The therapy continues when Steve Solomon, the star and creator of one of the longest running one-man shows in history, returns to Bristol Riverside Theatre in My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Home for the Holidays, running January 3-6, 2013.

Performances on Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Tickets starting at $30 are available by visiting brtstage.org or calling the BRT Box Office at 215-785-0100. All performances are at Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe Street in Bristol, PA).

When his family arrives home to celebrate the holidays in Brooklyn, Solomon is thrown together with all his dysfunctional family members in a riotous celebration of the holiday season. Playing an onslaught of new characters, accompanied by the favorites that appeared in last year's smash hit My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm in Therapy, Solomon brings to light the characters we know, love and tolerate from our own families; each one brought to life on stage with voices, dialects and wacky sound effects that only add to the hilarity of each story. The consequent crises and confusions become comically abundant in My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Home for the Holidays, as Solomon's stories relate to the side of the human condition that only rears its ugly head during the holidays.

Steve Solomon began working as a physics teacher and then an administrator, serving as assistant to the superintendent at a district on Long Island for 17 years. In deciding to change careers to his love for theater, he moved to Florida and used his writing talents and knack for dialects and accents to comedic effect with his sold-out performances of The Man, The Music, The Mishuggina! and My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm in Therapy, his newest production has been met with rave reviews and great audience acclaim.

The BRT mainstage season continues with the comedy thriller Deathtrap by Ira Levin (January 29-February 24); the ever-popular Gilbert and Sullivan operetta The Pirates of Penzance (March 19-April 28), and the classical drama Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (May 21-June 9).

Since 1986, BRT has brought consistently acclaimed professional theatre to Bucks County and maintained a long-term commitment to finding and developing new plays. The theatre is the recipient of over 66 Barrymore Award nominations for Excellence in Theatre, given annually by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia. In addition to its mainstage productions, the theatre serves as a cultural hub for the community, with such programs as children's theatre, community concerts and exhibitions of local visual arts. Currently under the direction of Artistic Director Keith Baker, Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson, and Managing Director, Amy Kaissar, BRT continues its 26th season.
