State Theatre Receives Grant From Verizon Foundation

The State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton, PA is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation for upgrades to the existing assisted listening system.

The funds will be used to upgrade the current system from one frequency to a multiple frequency unit, allowing the State Theatre to provide hearing impaired services at simultaneous shows and events in the entire Center for the Arts complex, including the main theatre, the Acopian Ballroom and the Alvin H. Butz Gallery as needed.

"The State Theatre Center for the Arts often has different performances at the same time throughout our building," says Shelley Brown, President & CEO. It is not uncommon for 200 patrons to be enjoying Late Nite Catechism upstairs in the Acopian Ballroom while 1500 more are in the main theatre cheering for their favorite musical artist. We are a true arts center, with performances, receptions and art shows all going on simultaneously"

The State Theatre Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center in downtown, Easton, PA. The Center for the Arts welcomes nearly 100 performances and events every year to its historic, main theatre, the Acopian Ballroom, and the Alvin H. Butz Gallery. The State Theatre also produces the annual FREDDY© Awards program, which recognizes outstanding achievement in local high school musical theatre in Lehigh, Northampton and Warren counties.
