St. Louis Shakespeare Presents TREASURE ISLAND, 11/6-11/15
St. Louis' premier classical theatre presents the action-packed seafaring tale of Treasure Island at the Lee Auditorium in the Missouri History Museum November 6-15.
Directed by Jerry Vogel, St. Louis Shakespeare presents Robert Louis Stevenson's piratical coming-of-age story of buried treasure and adventure on the high seas. St. Louis Shakespeare relates the exciting tale of young Jim Hawkins, who gets caught up in the search for the treasure of Captain Flint, the richest, most notorious pirate ever to sail the Spanish Main. But other, less noble eyes search for that treasure as well-can Jim and his companions trust Long John Silver and their own crew? Jim must grow up quickly aboard the ship Hispaniola as the fate of the treasure-hunting voyage comes to depend on him alone. There will be a one-hour lecture and discussion session before the November 7th show, at 7:00 PM, featuring St. Louis Shakespeare Artistic Director Donna Northcott and two local experts. Admission is free with purchase of a show ticket.
