St. George Theater Hosts A Fall Doo-Wop Spectacular 11/7

By:

Celebrate Fall as the hottest doo wop groups of the 50s and 60s gather on November 7th at the St. George Theatre for the Fall Doo Wop Spectacular. Scheduled to appear are:

Charlie Thomas' Drifters Since The Drifters were founded in 1953, there have been a number of singers who have come and gone, but there is only one singer whose voice is on all of The Drifters greatest hits, Charlie Thomas. Don't miss Charlie Thomas' Drifters performing their greatest hits, including "There Goes My Baby", "Save the Last Dance for Me" and the classic best seller "Under the Boardwalk."

Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners Fronted by original member Jimmy Beaumont. The Skyliners best known for their 1959 hit "Since I Don't Have You." They also hit the Top 40 with "This I Swear" and "Pennies From Heaven." Other classics include "It Happened Today", "Close Your Eyes", "Comes Love" and "Where Have They Gone"; Jay Siegel & The Tokens One of the original Doo Wop groups of the 1950s and 1960s. This Brooklyn group hit the charts with "Tonight I Fell in Love", "Portrait of My Love" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". The Tokens style and sound is elegantly defined by Jay Siegel whose tenor lead and trademark falsetto have characterized their music.

Shirley Alston Reeves Co-founder and original lead vocalist for The Shirelles, Reeves will perform their all time favorites including "Tonight's The Night" (penned by Reeves), "Baby It's You", the soulful sounding "This Is Dedicated To The One I Love", "Foolish Little Girl", and, of course, the group's 5 million selling hit, "Soldier Boy".

Emil Stucchio & the Classics With original member, Emil Stucchio, the Classics made the Top 20 in the early 60s with "Till Then." The group's strength lay in their handling of ballads -- they love reviving '20s and '30s standards such as "P.S. I Love You".
