Spamalot's Hank Azaria nominated for Screen Actors Guild Award

By:

Hank Azaria, currently starring in Monty Python's Spamalot, has been nominated for a 2005 Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as Dr. Craig "Huff" Huffstodt in the Showtime production Huff. The SAG Awards are selected by actors' peers; the ceremony airs on Saturday February 5 at 8 PM ET/PT, 7 PM Central, 6 PM MT.

Hank Azaria co-stars with David Hyde Pierce and Tim Curry in Spamalot which is currently playing Chicago Shubert Theatre through January 23. Directed by Mike Nichols, Spamalot features a book by Eric Idle, based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, with an entirely new score featuring music and lyrics by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, along with three songs from the 1975 film.

Spamalot begins previews at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on February 14 and opens on March 17. If someone tries to convince you that you're seeing Spamalot and you're not in a theatre called Shubert, you're in the wrong place.
