'Spamalot' Closes In Vegas 7/13 After 509 Peformances

The long arm of the sword will come to an end on Sunday July 13 when the award-winning "Monty Python's SPAMALOT" ends its historic run at Wynn Las Vegas. SPAMALOT began its reign in the desert on March 31, 2007 and tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. SPAMALOT features silly songs, dancing divas, knights in tights, feisty Frenchmen and a happy ending! It will have played 509 performances.
Featuring a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, direction by Mike Nichols, and choreography by Casey Nicholaw, SPAMALOT is based on a screenplay by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The show is lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and stars John O'Hurley as King Arthur. The smash hit musical continues to play on Broadway, on national US tour and in London's West End.John O'Hurley, stars as King Arthur, Erica Ash plays The Lady of the Lake. The principal cast also includes Harry Bouvy, Aaron De Jesus, James Ludwig, Randal Keith, Mika Duncan and Josh Grisetti.SPAMALOT has been honored with numerous awards, including the Grammy Award for Best Original Cast Recording and three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The production has been lauded by audiences and critics around the world. The Sunday Times (London) says SPAMALOT "raises silliness to an art form glorious, irresistible silliness." WABC-TV and Good Morning America said "I LOVED EVERY MINUTE! They're going to have to reupholster the seats at the theatre once a week, that's how hard you'll be laughing." The Independent (London) wrote, "I felt I might actually die of laughter."
