Sound Theatre Company Launches MAKING WAVES Performance Program

By:

Sound Theatre Company today announced MAKING WAVES, an experimental performance program designed to share the emerging work of company members.  STC will present two evenings of performance in March at the Center House Theatre when our current production of THE FOREIGNER is not in performance.  It is our hope that future performances will include more staged readings, musical and movement presentations in development.  All MAKING WAVES presentations are free and open to the public.

Blood Pudding and Haggis: The tragicomedy of the writing of Macbeth

By Daniel Flint (Troilus and Cressida '08), Frank Lawler (Pygmalion, '11; Troilus and Cressida '08) and Jason Marr (Troilus and Cressida '08)

Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30 pm

Center House Theatre

FREE, donations encouraged

Just when Shakespeare thought he could rest in peace, comes another scandalous episode the Bard never wanted us to see:  Blood Pudding and Haggis. From the twisted minds that exposed Hamlet in The Elsinore Diaries, comes this irreverent comedy about the writing of Shakespeare's tragedy, MacBeth.  Flint, Lawler and Marr again team up with "reverent irreverence, in generous portions" (Seattle Weekly) to present another "lurid yarn rife with political intrigue" (The Seattle Times). Eric Ray Anderson directs this public reading featuring a cast of local Seattle actors.

VIEW FROM THE TENT: THOUGHTS FROM A HOMELESS MAN  A Dramatic Monologue performed by Dan Niven (Troilus and Cressida, '08)
Based on the book View from the Tent: Thoughts from a Homeless Man, compiled by M. Barrett Miller

Sunday, March 18th, 7:30 pm

Center House Theatre

FREE, donations encouraged

Dan Niven has performed VIEW FROM THE TENT at theatres, churches, and community centers throughout the Puget Sound area, prompting discussion, advocacy and action to recognize and improve the plight of the homeless in our area.  "Thoughts, letters and notes from Atreus were shared with me over a number of years. He was a homeless man living primarily in an outdoor shelter in Seattle. These musings come from a man who was crushed by violence and loss. His reflections give hope to many who find themselves in similar situations living on the outskirts of society." - M. Barrett Miller
