Soho Rep Hosts 2008 Roof Terrace Party June 24th

Off-Broadway's Soho Rep hosts its 2008 ROOF TERRACE PARTY to celebrate its upcoming season on Tuesday, June 24, beginning at 6:30pm on the roof terrace of 267 Fifth Avenue.
 
Theatergoers and supporters of Soho Rep are welcome to take in the sunset with skyline views, as well as enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live music by Brazilian jazz trio Rosewood & Rhythm and more, including the company of some of downtown's most interesting established and emerging theatre artists.
 
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Sarah Benson and new Executive Director Tania Camargo, Soho Rep is dedicated to cultivating and producing visionary, uncompromising, and exuberant new plays. They perform to one of the youngest adult audiences in New York City, with over three-quarters of its audience aged 18-35.
 
Since 2000, Soho Rep productions have garnered nine Obie Awards, most recently a special citation to Nature Theater of Oklahoma for NO DICE, which enjoyed an extended run during the company's 2007-08 Season. Other recent accollades include Obies for Playwriting to Adam Bock and Direction to Anne Kauffman both for THE THUGS; four Drama Desk nominations for their critically acclaimed production of FRANKENSTEIN; the Oppenheimer Award for EVERYTHING WILL BE DIFFERENT; and two Kesselring Awards for Melissa James Gibson and Mark Schultz. In recent years, Soho Rep has presented plays by established and emerging theatre artists such as Richard Maxwell, Mac Wellman, Young Jean Lee, John Jesurun, The Flying Machine and Jenny Schwartz.
 
Entering it 34th Season, Soho Rep recently transition from an Off-Off-Broadway company to a full-fledged Off-Broadway company. The theater has also recently instituted some novel (and extremely popular) ticket pricing policies, including all seats for 99-cents on Sundays.
