Sivan Hadari's award-winning, one woman show; The Emancipation of a Sassy Jewish Woman returns to its New York roots as part of the Times Square Spring Theatre Festival on April 14th & 15th of this year. The performance is based on Hadari's personal exodus, as a modern day gypsy, traveling through America, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, India, China and Thailand in search of a home. The audience is taken on a journey back to the time when Hadari's family were Jewish immigrants fleeing Tunisia, to a little girl praying at a Yeshiva in Brooklyn, to a trailer in a settlement over-looking Jericho, to a secret beach at the Dead Sea, all in the name of liberation. "I wrote the show after a very traumatic experience I had gone through and I was ready to leave the art world for good.", says Hadari, "but instead of giving up, I decided to share my story in hopes that it would inspire others to keep following their own dreams". And inspire it did.

In 2010, 'Emancipation' won the award for Best Solo Debut after it was accepted into The United Solo Festival at Theatre Row. This April, Hadari brings back this award winning show to the Heart of Times Square.
