Single Tickets on Sale Today at Westport Country Playhouse
With less than two months before the curtain goes up on Westport Country Playhouse's 2012 season, single tickets are now on sale, beginning Tuesday, March 6, at noon. Single tickets may be purchased by phone at 203-227-4177, in person at 25 Powers Court,Westport, or 24/7 online at westportplayhouse.org.
"The four extraordinary plays and one musical that our artistic team has chosen, along with a roster of extraordinary artists, constitute one of the most exciting seasons programmed at The Playhouse," said David B. Byrd, Playhouse director of marketing.
Westport Country Playhouse's 2012 five-play season includes "Into the Woods," a beguiling take on timeless fairy tales, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine, directed by Mark Lamos, May 1 – 26; "The Year of Magical Thinking," based on the National Book Award Winner by Joan Didion, directed by Nicholas Martin and featuring Maureen Anderman, June 12 – 30; Molière's "Tartuffe," a funny and wise farce, translated by Richard Wilbur, directed by David Kennedy, July 17 – August 4; the world premiere of "Harbor," a comedy about a dysfunctional, loving family, by Chad Beguelin, directed by Mark Lamos, August 28 – September 15; "A Raisin in the Sun," the timeless classic about a black family in 1950s Southside Chicago and their quest for a piece of the American Dream, by Lorraine Hansberry, directed by Phylicia Rashad, October 9 – November 3.
