Singer/Songwriter, JD Souther To Appear Live at the WarnerTheatre 6/23

By:

One of the principal architects of the Southern California country-rock sound, JD Souther will perform at the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Thursday, June 23 at 8pm.

Souther played a key role in the formation of the Eagles and co-wrote their hits "Heartache Tonight," "Victim of Love," "New Kid In Town," and "Best of My Love," as well as writing Linda Ronstadt's classics "Faithless Love," "Simple Man, Simple Dream," and "Prisoner in Disguise." He also released three critically acclaimed solo albums -- "John David Souther," "Black Rose,", and "You're Only Lonely" -- and two albums as a member of The Souther Hillman Furay Band, the super group which united Souther with Poco's Richie Furay and the Byrds' Chris Hillman.

In 1985, Souther walked away from his solo career and focused on songwriting. His songs were written with/for artists like: Brooks & Dunn, Jimmy Buffet, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Dixie Chicks and countless others. The newly re-formed Eagles chose his song, "How Long" to debut from their first studio album in 28 years.

In 2008, Souther returned as a solo performer with his first album in 25 years, "If the World Was You". His newest album, "Natural History" was released on May 31, 2011.

Come and experience this legendary singer/songwriter when he hits the stage on June 23 at the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. Opening act will be Knoxville-based singer/songwriter, Jill Andrews.

Tickets for this performance are $35, $45 and can be purchased by calling the Warner box office at 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org
