Shorted Attention Span Festival feat. Baseball Plays March 6-16
Just in time for the sports-season, Shortened Attention Span presents The Shortened Attention Span Baseball Festival at the Players Loft in The Players Theatre, March 6, 2008 - March 16, 2008. The Festival will feature the work of emerging playwrights from all over the country, with the unifying theme of the plays being the subject of baseball and how the game touches our lives. The plays deal with a range of topics, from the relationship between mothers and sons, learning what the "bases" mean, and players dealing with regret for choices they have made.
The Festival will run from March 6, 2008 through March 16, 2008. Performances will be on Thursdays though Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Klepto by Charles Messina - A play about the choice a young New York Yankee Fan has to make when the law and his thief mom collide
The First Base Coach by Jerrod Bogard - Winner of the "Producer's Pick" in the Shortened Attention Span Horror Festival and award winning filmmaker (Best Short Film in the Bare Bones International Film Festival) The First Base Coach is about two young children "rounding the bases" in a more literal sense than any other.
The Persistance of Memeory by Jerry Lazar - After an evening of drinking, a man and his friend realize that they can remember the most obscure details of obscure ball players.

You Can't Leave That Here by Rose Marie Hester - directed by Brent Buell (playwright, filmaker and activist who works with PCI (Prison Communities International) an Arts Rehabilitation Program
Mama Boys by Concetta Rose Rella - A play about a former ball player, his brother and the mother who will never stop controlling their lives.
Out of Left Field - Mim Granahan's story of a straight-laced father and gay son who reconcile after the death of his ball playing brother.
God Must Love Baseball by Jon Galvez - Tells the story of a young Mid- Western couple whose "alone time" is continually interrupted by their friend who contemplates whether or not God plays baseball .
