Sherman Playhouse Hosts Auditions For AN INSPECTOR CALLS

The Sherman Playhouse is seeking four men, ages 20 to 60, and three women, ages 20 to 55, for its classic fall drama, AN INSPECTOR CALLS, by J.B. Priestly.

In an English industrial city, a young girl commits suicide and an eminently respectable British family is subject to a routine inquiry in connection with the death. An inspector calls to interrogate the family, and during the course of his questioning, all members of the group are implicated lightly or deeply in the girl's undoing. The family, closely knit and friendly at the beginning of the evening, is shown up quite differently by the night's end in the play's strange and mysterious conclusion.

Auditions will be held Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All auditions will take place at The Sherman Playhouse, located at 5 Route 39 North (the intersection of Route 37 and 39), in Sherman, Conn.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Auditioners can arrive at the scheduled times or contact director Laura Gilbert to arrange a time at 860-957-7263. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome.

Rehearsals begin in late July with performances running from September 9 to October 1 on weekends.
