The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio proudly present an interview with actress Sherie Rene Scott, on their weekly theatrical interview show, "Downstage Center," on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28).
Scott will appear as the special guest on Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m. The show will repeat on Saturday, May 17 at noon, Sunday, May 18 at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, May 21 at midnight (all times eastern; transmission is simultaneous across the country). The Little Mermaid's Sherie Rene Scott talks about creating the role of Ursula in the stage version of the beloved animated film, including what she believes the character thinks of herself. Sherie Rene Scott currently stars in Disney's The Little Mermaid on Broadway. She has been seen previously on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Tony nominee), Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida, Tommy, and Rent; Off-Broadway in Landscape of the Body, The Last Five Years, and Debbie Does Dallas; and regionally in Faust and Over and Over. With her husband Kurt Deutsch, Scott co-founded Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records (sh-k-boom.com), which have released over 50 albums, receiving five Grammy® nominations and a 2006 Drama Desk Award for dedication to the preservation of musical theatre.
