The ShenanArts Youth Company proudly announces a comedy for the entire family- That Scoundrel Scapino! Performance dates are: Wednesday, May 27 through Saturday, May 30. All performances are at 7:30 at Stage 4 in Verona. Ticket prices are $8 for students and $10 adults, all general admission. That Scoundrel Scapino is a zany, slapstick comedy, featuring audience participation. Based loosely on the classic play by Moliere, this commedia dell'arte-style version was adapted especially for ShenanArts' teen acting company by Director Diane Stewart. The cast features ten local teens and three younger actors dressed in traditional commedia costumes. The play will be performed in the fast-paced, physical style of the Italian Renaissance traveling acting companies. Parodies of famous Italian songs such as "O Sole Mio" and "That's Amore" are part of the story. The play is fun for all ages! While their two domineering, miserly fathers are away on business, Ottavio and Leandro get into a pack of trouble! They fall in love, but not with the girls their fathers have chosen for them. They appeal to clever servant Scapino to help them out of their dilemma. Can Scapino come to the rescue, trick the old misers and and unite the desperate lovers?
