The Lake Worth Playhouse
March 29th, 2008
On March 29th, 2008 at 8:00 p.m., in honor of PrideFest, the Lake Worth Playhouse will Send in the Queens - who will take to the Playhouse stage and perform a Drag Show Benefit Concert for the theatre. Spearheaded and performed entirely by Playhouse volunteers, the two hour fundraiser promises to be chock-full of fun and surprises, not to mention music, dancing and of course, fabulous costumes.
The Queens - Pepper Monroe, J J Valentine, Helena Handbasket, Ricky Rollick, Melissa St.John, Lupita Hollywood and Geena Loveless will perform selections from Dreamgirls, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Gypsy and Sunset Boulevard. They will also pay tribute to such icons as Tina Turner, Carol Channing, Annie Lennox, Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Gaynor, Liza Minnelli, Etta James and Marilyn Monroe. Comedy, Drama, Music, Politics – the Queens will do it all. Carlos Toro has assembled a special collection of gowns, jewels and footwear for the evening.
All the Queens are active Playhouse members, volunteers and/or directors, and have appeared in or worked on numerous productions at the theatre.
The Lake Worth Playhouse is a not-for-profit community theatre that provides entertainment, education, and opportunities for artistic expression through volunteerism and community involvement and support. The monies raised by this event will allow the Playhouse to continue to serve the Lake Worth and Palm Beach County community not only as a theatre, but as a provider of programming and community service to a large and varied population.

Ticket prices are:
35.00 – 1 general admission ticket
$50.00 – 1 general admission ticket and a 5 x 7 photo of the cast
$100.00 – 1 reserved seat and a 5 x 7 photo of the cast
$500.00 – 4 reserved seats, an onstage photo with the cast, 2 tickets to the upcoming Playhouse production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and two tickets to a film in the Stonzek Theatre.
All ticket prices include a pre-show cocktail party at the Lake Worth Playhouse at 7:00 p.m. and a 'Meet the Cast After Party' at The Cottage restaurant at 522 Lucerne. 'After Party' attendees may exchange their Send in the Queens ticket stubs for one free drink at the Cottage.
