Select seating for the world premiere musical stage production of Disney's classic animated film ALADDIN is now being offered byway of special subscription packages for the tuner, with 20% discounted seats as well as early bird discounts available through June 30.

The official synopsis of ALADDIN is as follows: "In an exotic, faraway land, one man's life is about to change with the lucky rub of an ancient lamp-and you're invited to join the magic carpet ride. Welcome to ALADDIN, Disney's new Broadway-bound musical, adapted from the hit film and featuring some of the best-loved music by Academy and Tony Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricists Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin, with a book by Beguelin. Brought to you by the producer of Toronto's record-breaking hits The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, ALADDIN will be directed and choreographed by Tony -winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) and will feature the award-winning and acclaimed design team of Bob Crowley (sets), Gregg Barnes (costumes) and Natasha Katz (lights), with illusions by Jim Steinmeyer. With its timeless story, extravagant sets and costumes and a host of memorable characters and songs, ALADDIN will transport you to a place you only know in your dreams. Go ahead, make a wish. And discover a whole new world, in a whole new way... at ALADDIN."

I originally broke the news of the Broadway return of ALADDIN in my InDepth InterView with multi-Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken in 2010. Portions of the conversation follow below:

"PC: I was just talking to Don Hahn about all the great cut songs you wrote with Howard for ALADDIN. Could you tell me about those?

AM: We're getting them back!

PC: How so?

AM: We're doing a stage musical of ALADDIN and all those songs are going to be in it.

PC: How wonderful! Tell me everything! Who's doing the adaptation with you?

AM: Chad Beguelin wrote the book. He did a fantastic job. He and I also wrote a new song that will be going in, along with a lot of the cut Howard Ashman songs and some of the cut Tim Rice songs, and a song that I wrote music and lyrics for that was in the theatrical adaptation at California Adventure.

PC: That's quite a team, then - you, Ashman, Rice, Beguelin! Will it be substantially different from the film?

AM: It has more of the feeling of a Hope & Crosby road picture - which is what Howard and I originally wanted for the musical. We are going to try it out, hopefully, next summer.

PC: Do you have a design team in place yet? It will be especially important for a stage ALADDIN, I would think.

AM: No, not yet.

PC: It has such great possibilities. It should be good!

AM: Let's hope so! Knock on wood. You never know, you never know."
