Scarlett Johansson to Star in ALFRED HITCHCOCK & THE MAKING OF PSYCHO

Variety reports that Scarlett Johansson is set to star as actress Janet Leigh in Fox Searchlight Pictures Alfred Hitchcock AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO. The film will focus on the making of the 1960 Hitchcock horror classic 'Psycho', which starred Leigh and Anthony Perkins. Sacha Gervasi will direct the upcoming film written by John McLaughlin. Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck, Tom Thayer and Tom Pollack will produce.

Johansson joins cast members James D'Arcy who will play Perkins, Anthony Hopkins, in the role of iconic director Hitchcock, and Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma.

Johansson appeared as Catherine in the 2010 Broadway revival of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, for which she was awarded a Tony. Her film credits include "The Horse Whisperer," "Lost in Translation," "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "The Black Dahlia," "The Other Boleyn Girl" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." She was most recently seen on the big screen in last year's "We Bought a Zoo".
