Saturday Roundup: This Week on BroadwayWorld

In this week's casting news, Roundabout's revival of THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD will star Stephanie J. Block, Will Chase, Gregg Edelman, Andy Karl, Jessie Mueller, Betsy Wolfe and more. Stark Sands, Billy Porter, Annaleigh Ashford, Celina Carvajal and more are slated to premiere the Broadway-bound musical KINKY BOOTS in Chicago; Cale Krise has joined THE BOOK OF MORMON as Elder Cunningham; Robert Cuccioli, Natascia Diaz and Drew Sarich will lead CHESS for the Actors Fund; and Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway next spring in Lyle Kessler’s ORPHANS, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

MEMPHIS, which won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Musical, will shutter August 5. ANYTHING GOES - which was previously announced August 5 as well - will now close on July 8. MOTOWN The Musical has been confirmed for Broadway in Spring 2013, and headed to a TV near you is THE SOUND OF MUSIC, which will premiere live on NBC.
