Tony Award-winning MISS SAIGON star and popular theatre personality Lea Salonga has taken to Twitter to support fellow Filipino notable, Charice, who recently revealed in a TV interview that she is a lesbian.

Salonga wrote, "Dear @OfficialCharice have you any idea how many young people you inspired today? More power, blessings and love to you!!!"

Charice shot to popularity in her home country of the Phillipines in 2008 and was named by Oprah Winfrey as "the most talented girl in the world" prior to her recurring role on FOX's hit musical dramedy series GLEE soon thereafter. She recently revealed her sexuality in an interview with Filipino TV show THE BUZZ, available to view below.

Charice also commented in a separate interview, "I just want to say thank you, personally, to all my friends, to all the people who are supporting me, who are still there for me. Honestly, I'm very, very happy. I can't explain how happy I am right now hearing all the positive things."
