Drake Doremus' Like Crazy, starring FeliciTy Jones, Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence, was awarded the prize for U.S. dramatic film Saturday night at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival awards ceremony, according to the Hollywood Reporter. 

The film was the first to be purchased at the festival, but Paramount and Indian Paintbrush who paid $4 million to release the film worldwide. Doremus co-wrote the script with Ben York Jones.

How to Die in Oregon won the prize for U.S. documentary, directed by Peter D. Richardson.

Sean Durkin won the U.S. dramatic directing award for "Martha Marcy May Marlene," and the film was picked up by Fox Searchlight.

Jon Foy won the U.S. documentary award for "Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles."

Excellence in cinematography award for U.S. documentary: Eric Strauss, Ryan Hill and Peter Hutchens for "The Redemption of General Butt Naked"

U.S. dramatic cinematography award: Bradford Young, for Dee Rees' "Pariah."

Special Award for acting: FeliciTy Jones for "Like Crazy"

Special Prize "for creating a documentary for all ages:" Constance Marks and co-director Philip Shane for "BEING ELMO: A Puppeteer's Journey

U.S. Audience Award for Documentary: Cindy Meehl for "Buck"

U.S. Audience Award for Dramatic: Maryam Keshavarz for "Circumstance"

World Cinema Documentary Audience Award: Asif Kapadia for "Senna"

World Cinema Dramatic Audience Award: Alrick Brown for "Kinyarwanda"

Best of NEXT Audience Award: Erica Dunton for "to.get.her."

World Cinema Dramatic Award: Anne Sewitsky and Ragnhild Tronvoll for "Happy, Happy"

World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award: Paddy Considine for "Tryannosaur"

 

World Cinema Dramatic Screenwriting Award: Erez Kav-El for "Restoration."

World Cinematography Award: Danfung Dennis for "Hell and Back Again"

World Cinema Documentary: Danfung Dennis for "Hell and Back Again"

World Editing Award: Goran Hugo Olsson and Hanna Lejonqvist for "The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975"

World Cinema Directing Award: James Marsh for "Project Nim"

Special World Cinema Prize for Documentary: Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich and Leonard Retel Helmrich for "Position Among the Stars"

Alfred P. Sload Award: Cahill and Marling for "Another Earth"

Presenters included Matt Groening, Todd MCarthy, Tim Orr, America Ferrera, Jess Search and more.

The annual awards ceremony kicked off at 7 p.m. from the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse in Kimball Junction. Tim Blake Nelson hosted the event.

Last year's dramatic competition grand jury prize winner, Debra Granik's "Winter's Bone," was released by Roadside Attractions and grossed more than $6 million. It was also nominated for four Oscar Awards including best picture. It also won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award for Granik and Anne Rosellini's screenplay.
