STOMP Featured on LATINATION This Weekend

By:

STOMP, the international sensation, playing at New York's Orpheum Theatre and on national tour, will be featured this weekend on the nationally syndicated show LATINATION; the show airs tomorrow night Saturday April 23 at 1:30 AM on Channel 5 (actually, very early Sunday morning). Check here for local listings: http://www.latination.tv/wheretowatch

LATINATION airs in the US, Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands. It is one of the first English language, U.S. Latino targeted TV programs on mainstream television and touches on topics about young, 2nd and 3rd generation Latinos making an impact on U.S. society.

STOMP has been an overwhelming success marked by rave reviews, numerous awards, an Academy Award nomination, a Grammy nomination, four Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award, noteworthy TV appearances ranging from The Academy Awards to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, and a series of award-winning international commercials. STOMP's international engagements have included Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, South Africa, Israel, Palestine, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, Poland, Bahrain, and The Acropolis in Athens, Greece. STOMP has also made its unique presence known on cuts on Quincy Jones' CD Q's Jook Joint and in a unique collaboration on the Latin Grammys with the award-winning band Calle 13. STOMP has become such an identifiable part of popular culture that it has been parodied on Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons, and has been an answer on Jeopardy!

STOMP can also be seen in London's West End, and on a European tour.

Critics and audiences have raved: "STOMP is a sure-fire crowd pleaser with a rock-and-roll heart," says The New York Times. "STOMP finds beautiful noise in the strangest places," says USA Today. STOMP is the winner of an Olivier Award for Best Choreography (London's Tony Award); an Obie Award; a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatre Experience, and a Special Citation from Best Plays.

Visit www.stomponline.com for US information and www.stomp.co.uk for news on the London and European companies. The Orpheum Theatre is located at 126 Second Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets.
