On last week's episode of THE ELLEN SHOW, superstar Stevie Wonder revealed that he is interested in participating as a contestant on next season's DANCING WITH THE STARS on ABC.

Rumors had been circulating that Wonder had expressed serious interest in competiting in the popular show on ABC.  "Is there any truth to the rumor?" DeGeneres asked him on the November 30th show. Replied Wonder, "I'm losing weight.  When I get to where I feel like I'm gonna look good enough for what I wanna do, I'll do that." The talk show host commented that the singer was already in good shape and he added,  "I'll look good in the beginning and I'll look even better in the end."

The ABC dance competition has previously included contestants with physical handicaps, including Heather Mills who lost a leg several years ago, and Marlee Matlin who is deaf.  The 61-year-old Wonder hopes to be the first blind contestant to ever compete on the show.
