Welcome to BWW's ON THIS DAY Series celebrating theatrical birthdays, openings and special events that took place on this day in theatre history!
Happy Birthday, Alan Jay Lerner! Lerner was an American lyricist and librettist. In collaboration with Frederick Loewe, he created some of the world's most popular and enduring works of musical theatre for both the stage and on film. He won three Tony Awards and three Academy Awards, among other honors. Some of his best-know works include My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, Camelot, and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
In celebration of this day, we bring you Julie Andrews and Michael Crawford's My Fair Lady medley. Click below to check it out!
