Magic Johnson revealed on the Wendy Williams show that he is in the process of adapting Soul Train for Broadway and the big screen, with hopes to bring the show back to television. Watch his interview below!
"We are working on it as a musical of course," Johnson, who owns the rights to Soul Train, told Williams, "We are talking about a movie too. Then the last thing is can we bring it back to TV. Most of us or our parents learned how to dance watching Soul Train and so we may bring it back."Soul Train debuted in 1971 as a musical variety show that ran for 35 years until 2006, making it the longest, continuously running syndicated show in TV history. Created by Don Cornelius, the series featured performances by R&B, soul, hip hop, funk, jazz and other artists.
