Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of "Bring It On: The Musical" took part in a celebration kicking off the national tour of the musical on October 22, 2011. Also there were cheer squads from Narbonne High School (Harbor City), Mira Mesa High School (San Diego), Hart High School (Santa Clarita) and Santa Monica High School (Santa Monica); dance squads from St. Genevieve High School (Panorama City) and Los Alamitos High School (Los Alamitos); Glendale Community College's cheer squad, UCA cheer and dance instructors and a pep band. Guest hosts included KIIS FM's JoJo, Telemundo's Jorge Bernal and Hannah of "The Glee Project."

The event featured performances by the cast, routines by local cheer and dance squads, dance/cheer lessons, audience competitions, a live DJ, local TV and radio personalities, ticket giveaways and a traveling pep rally down CityWalk.
