From his highly unconventional childhood to being an addicted adult, Augusten Burroughs has spent his life fixing his brain. Now that he's a sober and wildly successful writer, he wants to show you how it is done with "This Is How with Augusten Burroughs," a six-week series airing on SiriusXM. Much like Augusten's book "This Is How" (St. Martin's Press), the series is a decidedly unorthodox take on self-help advice. Augusten peeks under the mental hood and breaks down topics including the "lie" of happiness, the luxury of having good parents, the way not to drink, and the way to create a fulfilling life on your own terms with an eclectic lineup of notable guests.

"‘This Is How' is a show where I am going to attempt to show you how you can fix yourself, or certain broken parts of yourself, or things that you've tried to fix in therapy that haven't been fixed," says Augusten Burroughs. "I have some experience in this area with my ‘Running with Scissors' childhood and my alcoholic adulthood later on, and I've had to reinvent the wheel several times...and it turns out that some of my wheels are very good."

"This Is How with Augusten Burroughs" airs every Saturday at 12:00 pm ET through May 19 on SiriusXM Stars Too channel 104. Encore presentations of each show will air Tuesdays at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Stars Too and the following Saturday at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Book Radio channel 80.

On this week's show, Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley talks to Augusten about confidence and finding your voice, Encore presentations on Tuesday, April 24 at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Stars Too ch.104 and Saturday, April 28 at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Book Radio ch.80.
