On the occasion of the amazing 25th Anniversary of The Phantom Of The Opera on Broadway last night, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (who sadly was unable to travel to New York because of a back procedure) and the show's original 'Christine' Sarah Brightman sat down together in London this week to reflect on the show's genesis and incredible success. The video was broadcast to the invitation-only audience at New York's Majestic Theatre as part of the on-stage, post-performance presentation marking 25 Years.
The special video was the first joint on-camera interview for the couple in nearly three decades.
The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera, directed by Harold Prince is produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc. Last night, Saturday, January 26, 2013, the New York production celebrated its 25th Anniversary - an unprecedented milestone in Broadway history. It was #10,400 at The Majestic Theatre.
