As reported this morning, lauded composer Alan Menken revealed at Disney's "Destination D" event that the musical adaptation of ALADDIN is "coming to Broadway." View the announcement below!

Based on the Disney film by the same name, Aladdin features a book by Chad Beguelin, music by Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, with additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin.

ALADDIN was the best-attended production at The Muny in St. Louis this summer, featuring Tony nominees Robin De Jesus and John Tartaglia as Aladdin and the Genie, respectively. The show sold 74,857 tickets across its nine performances and boasted an average of 8,317 per performance. Utah's Tuacahn Theater is also presenting the musical through October.

The Disney film was written by Ron Clements, John Musker, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, and directed and produced by Ron Clements and Jon Musker.
