SNOW WHITE, THE QUEEN'S FAIR DAUGHTER Opens This Friday at Raleigh Little Theatre

By:

Snow White, The Queen's Fair Daughter, adapted by Max Bush, opens on March 1, 2013 in Raleigh Little Theatre's Youth Series.

Based on the original oral story, this version of the well-loved classic contains many familiar elements, but differs from the Grimms' later versions. The Queen adores her daughter, but Snow White's coming of age pushes the two apart. As punishment for Snow White's curiosity, the Queen abandons her daughter in the woods. Here, Snow White meets seven industrious dwarves and a young Prince. A surprise ending to this tale reveals what happens after the disguised Queen tricks her daughter into eating the famous poisoned apple.

This play is appropriate for ages 5 and up. It is the first of two back-to-back interpretations of Grimm Brothers tales, produced by Raleigh Little Theatre to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of these tales in 1812. The second is a musical version of The Brementown Musicians, running from May 3-19, 2013.
