In an interview with TVGuide, GLEE executive producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that he is currently in the process of casting two actors to play the roles of the fathers of the show's Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). According to the show's previous storyline, the gay couple adopted Rachel when she was a baby. In the interview, Murphy revealed that viewers will get their first look at the couple in an upcoming episode to air in late February or early March.

Murphy shared that there has been great interest among some of Hollywood's biggest names to play the parts. "I'm currently meeting and talking to [actors]," explains the executive producer. "So many people are interested in playing them...I had no idea when I sent out word to a couple of agents that there would be so much interest. But there is." While rumors circulated that Elton John might be cast as one of the fathers, Murphy laments that the superstar is unavailable to take on the role due to his current touring schedule.

Previously, Lea Michele had revealed that her preference for a 'dad' would be Broadway veteran Nathan Lane.

GLEE will return with an all new episode on January 17th on the Fox network.
