The Rrazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub offering world class jazz, soul, cabaret, comedy and popular music entertainment, has announced the lineup for its 1st Anniversary Gala & Benefit for St Jude Children's Hospital. The Gala will be held Tuesday, March 17th at The Rrazz Room at The Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason, San Francisco at 7:30 PM. Performers for the Gala, most of whom appear regularly at the Rrazz Room, include Rita Moreno, Petula Clark, Paul Williams, Stefanie Powers, Sally Kellerman, Paula West, Freda Payne, Linda Clifford, Edna Wright & Honey Cone, Valarie Pettiford, David Hernandez, Tim Hockenberry, Sony Holland, and Terese Genecco. Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening is Jan Wahl. Black tie/ cocktail attire is recommended and there will be an auction as part of the festivities. "Our original concept was to create a sophisticated room with great sound and lighting and the greatest entertainment and the response has been terrific," said Robert Kotonly, co-owner of the Rrazz Room. "Every performer has told us how much they appreciate the new club and its intimacy. This 180-seat club has given San Francisco a new, centrally located home for music and performance."
Proceeds from the Gala will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, internationally recognized for its pioneering work in saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization.
The Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko opened in March 2008 and presents high quality entertainment in a sophisticated venue. Located in downtown San Francisco at the corner of O'Farrell and Mason streets, the club is a few short blocks from Union Square.
