Rover Dramawerks Presents ADVENTURES IN MATING, Opens 9/9
Rover Dramawerks is pleased to present the hilarious comedy, Adventures in Mating, opening on Thursday, September 9. Performances will be at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano (next to the Courtyard Theater), continuing through October 2, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and an additional matinee performance on Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m.
YOU play the role of cruel fate in a romantic comedy for cynics of all ages! When a dysfunctional couple (played by Rachel M. Carothers and Robert Paterno) can't make simple decisions, like ordering red or white wine, the long-suffering Waiter (played Chester Maple) steps in to allow the audience to vote, and the show takes off in wildly different directions. Soup or salad? A slap or a kiss? Life or death? YOU DECIDE! With multiple storylines and endings, plus ever-changing scene options, you can't see it all if you only see it once! A "create your own adventure" story for grown-ups..
Lisa Devine directs and designs the sound, with Dawn M. Wittke as Assistant Director/Stage Manager. Clint Alan Ray is set designer and Carol M. Rice is costume and props designer. Jason Rice is sound designer and Michael Campbell is lighting designer, with Monica Ruiz and Charis Royal sharing board op duties.
Tickets for Adventures in Mating are $16.00 on Thursdays and matinees and $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday, September 9 is Preview Night, and all seats are "pay-what-you-can." On Saturday, September 11, Rover Dramawerks invites all patrons to a reception after the performance with the cast, director, and designers, as well as Rover board members.
Following the show on Saturday, September 18 and 25 at 9:30 p.m., stick around for Rover Late Night, presenting Graphic Novelties - staged readings of classic comic books. Free to anyone attending Adventures in Mating that night, otherwise, just $5.
Adventures in Mating is the final show in Rover Dramawerks' 10th Anniversary Season - A Year of Premieres. Tickets may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com.
