The production is being directed by James Landers, a veteran of RCP performances, and a local English educator. Landers has taken a special interest in the story of Timon. According to Landers, “the mystery for me has to do with understanding the process by which Shakespeare and others drafted, revised, and edited the plays we attribute to William Shakespeare. In adapting the play, I have tried to determine what further revisions would have been needed to place Timon of Athens into a finished form. What draws me to this play is that I can relate to Timon's intense resentment when all his false friends have betrayed him. If you have ever wanted to say, "To hell with you all" or wished you could leave civilization by yourself, you can relate to Timon's grief.”

Along with a great story to tell the cast of this production is graced with numerous veterans to RCP productions. What makes this cast so special is that they volunteer their time for love of theater, to provide the Rochester audience with a fresh take on plays that were originally preformed in the Elizabethan Era.

Timon’s character is being played by Roger Gans who has performed in over ninety productions around the United States. When asked why he chose to be a part of this production he said, “I’ve never done this play before, and I’m trying to collect as many Shakespeare plays as I can. I’ve done 16 so far and will never get the chance to perform this one again.” Gans describes the story of Timon as a tale of “foolishness, false friends, and how life can change”.

Other Rochesterians in the cast are; Laura Reed (Flavius), Brad Craddock (Alcibiades), and Phil Frey (Apemantus).
