The York Theatre Company, in association with Robert D. Wachs, has announced the addition of Emmy-Award nominee Rob Morrow ("Northern Exposure," "Number3s") to the cast of the lab workshop of the new disco musical, Last Dance, featuring the music of legendary pop master Paul Jabara.
Under the direction of Philip Wm. McKinley (SPIDERMAN Turn Off the Dark, The Boy from Oz), and with choreography by Carol Schuberg (Meet Me in St. Louis) and musical direction by Wendy Cavett (Mamma Mia!) along with a book from Shaun McKenna (Lord of the Rings, The Musical), Last Dance will play 5 performances only, September 20 – 23, 2012 at at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
Rob Morrow, a founding member of the theatrical troupe Naked Angels, is best known for his work on the television series "Northern Exposure" for which he garnered three Golden Globes and two Emmy Award nominations for "Best Actor in a Dramatic Series." His extensive television credits include "Numb3rs," "The Whole Truth," "Entourage," "CSI: NY," and "The Day Lincoln Was Shot," to name a few. Film credits include the soon to be released, Can A Song Save Your Life, The Good Doctor, The Bucket List, and the Oscar-nominated film Quiz Show, among many others. He most recently appeared onstage in The Exonerated, Third Street and London's West End production of Birdy. As a director his credits include episodes of "Necessary Roughness," "Numb3rs", Showtime's "Street Time", "Joan of Arcadia," "Maze" and HBO's "Oz".
The show is described as "a tale from the 70s when enough was never enough. A joyful celebration of disco dreams, glitter balls and dangerous delights. It's a story about a time, not so long ago, when a man wrote songs for the woman he thought he'd never lose."
Last Dance will play the following performance schedule: Thursday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and September 23 at 3:00 p.m.
