Chris Rock with the Creative Impact in Comedy Award, presented by Mercedes-Benz. The awards celebrate the filmmaker, actor and comedian for their outstanding contributions to the art and business of cinema.
Additionally, Variety's "10 Directors to Watch" series was presented, spotlighting the most exciting new talents in the fields of directing. This year's "10 Directors to Watch" include five with films at Palm Springs International Film Festival: Gett: The Tiral of Viviane Ansallem, Wild Tales, Force Majeure, Spring, and Selma, the festivals Opening Night film. The event was presented by Mercedes-Benz and venue partner the Parker Palm Springs.
