Rob Marshall Discusses Anna Kendrick As Cinderella In INTO THE WOODS

Disney's hotly anticipated big screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's fairy tale-themed musical INTO THE WOODS is coming this Christmas and the director of the enterprise, Rob Marshall, offers some observations on the starry cast of the film in a new interview.

Sharing his thoughts on the stage and screen crossover star portraying the coveted role of Cinderella, Anna Kendrick, Marshall relates, "Anna Kendrick brings a modern sensibility to Cinderella."

Furthermore, Marshall elaborates, "Because she has theater chops, it was fantastic to be able to have her on this. She really is an amazing singer."

Additionally, Marshall says, "I was so thrilled to see the vulnerability and the humor she brought to the role."

The official description of INTO THE WOODS is as follows: "Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests.
