SHN presents Hugh Jackman In Performance at the Curran Theatre May 3-15 in San Francisco. Hugh Jackman performs his Broadway and Hollywood favorite musical numbers backed by a 17 piece orchestra.

"I have always loved performing live on stage," said Hugh Jackman of the show. "I'm excited to now have the chance to put together some of my favorite musical performances for Bay Area audiences. And I can't think of a more ideal place to do this than the intimate Curran Theatre in San Francisco, one of the best Broadway theatres in America."

Let's find out what critics thought of Jackman's limited engagement show!

Karen D'Souza, Mercury News: Clearly in his element on the stage, the Aussie megastar quickly reveals himself to be an old-school entertainer, a shameless ham and a hard-core booty shaker...But he's no glory hog. Jackman lets his backup-singers, Merle Dandridge and Angel Reda, shine in a diva standoff from "Rent."

David Wiegand, San Francisco Chronicle: Jackman is a dazzling singer and dancer, whose hips probably got as much of a workout Wednesday night as his vocal cords. But ironically, what made the old-fashioned star turn was that it was very much a work in progress...For the audience, though, the real high point of unplanned shtick came when Jackman literally split his trousers doing high kicks in one number and changed into a new pair without leaving center stage.

Leslie Katz, The Examiner: While pleasant, Jackson's vocals weren't showstoppers, but his easy banter and rapport with the audience make for the stuff of stars. He chatted with a 7-year-old in the front row, joked with Jan Wahl (whose hat came off), teased some good-natured men about their bad dancing and reveled when a fan threw handcuffs onstage.

Andre Chautard, Young HollywoodHugh Jackman brought down the house on the opening night of his two-week concert stint at San Francisco's Curran Theatre, with his good friend and fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman in the audience cheering him on. Jackman performed an array of Broadway and pop hits over the course of the one-and-a-half-hour show, supported by a 17-piece on-stage band and two female backup singers, with clips mixed in of his films, stage work, and hosting gigs at the Oscars and Tonys.
