Reed's 'East 14th' To Play Final Performance on 9/6

By:

A hilarious and moving play – East 14th chronicles Don Reed's escape from an ultrastrict upbringing with his overbearing stepfather -- to the other side of town to live with his charismatic, funny, very supportive real father - who he had no idea - was a pimp.  The show was recently nominated for Best Actor & Best Playwright by the NAACP

The New York Times cheers "Mr. Reed brings it to life, inhabiting multiple personalities…it's hard not to love 1970s funk and soul and Don Reed" and The Amsterdam News applauds "East 14th is non-stop laughs! I have never laughed so hard at the theater." The New Yorker said "Don Reed acts out the story of his dicey childhood with both ease and inexhaustible energy."

East 14th has a production design by Matthew Allar (Shakespeare's R and J, All My Sons, Dancing at Lughnasa).

Tickets for East 14th range from $45-$55 with premium seating available. East 14th plays Thursdays at 8:00pm, Fridays at 9:00pm, and Saturdays at 9:00pm. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Telecharge at www.telecharge.com or calling (212)239-6200. For more information, please visit: www.East14th.com.
