Red Mountain Theatre Company Opens A Season Of Love With RENT 10/1

Eight friends. One extraordinary year. Experience the cult classic that measures love in five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes as Red Mountain Theatre Company presents RENT October 1-18, 2009, at the RMTC Cabaret Theatre (301 19th Street North).

Featuring a driving rock score with beautiful ballads, this Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning musical is an emotionally stirring story of a community of young artists and musicians struggling to live and celebrate life in New York's Lower East Side during the thriving days of the BohemIan East Village. Show times are Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Please note: a special 5:30 PM performance time will be held on Sunday, October 4.

In collaboration with BAO's Magic City AIDS Walk, Red Mountain Theatre Company will be presenting a special performance of RENT on Sunday, October 4, at 5:30 PM (instead of 2:00 PM). AIDS Walk participants will receive $5 off their ticket (for October 4 only).

Founded in 1979, Red Mountain Theatre Company (RMTC) is a non-profit professional theatre organization with an emphasis on musical theatre. RMTC provides unique educational, training and performing opportunities for aspiring and culturally diverse artists, while growing new and existing audiences through quality theatrical experiences. RMTC's 2009-2010 season also includes School House Rock LIVE Jr. (November 13-15, 3009), Merry Melodies (December 10-20, 2009), Barnstormer (January 28-31, 2010), Youth Programs Showcase (February 13-14, 2010), the regional premiere of Jason Robert Browns's 13 (April 1-11, 2010), SHOUT! (May 6-16, 2010) and The Sound of Music (July 15-August 1, 2010)
