ROCK OF AGES Announces New Broadway Cast with NY & Tour Alum

ROCK_OF_AGES_Announces_New_Broadway_Cast_with_NY_Tour_Alum_20010101

Today, the producers of the smash hit musical ROCK OF AGES announced the ‘supergroup' they've assembled to kick off performances at the Helen Hayes Theatre, 240 West 44th Street on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

The five-time Tony Award nominated musical will star returning original Broadway cast members Adam Dannheisser as "Dennis," Mitchell Jarvis as "Lonny," Michele Mais as "Justice," Paul Schoeffler as "Hertz; " first national tour cast members Rebecca Faulkenberry as "Sherrie" and MiG Ayesa as "Stacee Jaxx;" original Toronto cast members Cody Scott Lancaster as "Franz" and Josephine Rose Roberts as "Regina" (who also performed on Broadway); and is excited to introduce Dan Domenech, in his Broadway debut, as "Drew" following his engagement as the "Drew" standby on the First National Tour.

The music that ignited a generation heats up Broadway in the smash hit, ROCK OF AGES. The classic rock love story of the decade erupts into Broadway's best party, all to the sounds of such feel-good, sing-out-loud songs as Every Rose Has Its Thorn, I Wanna Know What Love Is, Here I Go Again, Don't Stop Believin' and more. This hilarious five-time Tony nominated musical is nothin' but a good time. A New Line Cinema film of the musical, directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), is ramping up to begin production in spring 2011.

Also featured in the ‘supergroup' cast of ROCK OF AGES are Tessa Alves (original Toronto cast member), Emily Williams (original Toronto cast member), Ericka Hunter (original Broadway cast member), Jeremy Woodard (original Broadway cast member), Andre Ward (original Broadway cast member), Jenifer Foote (recent Broadway cast member), Cassie Silva (recent Broadway cast member), Tony LePage (original Toronto cast member), and Michael Minarik (original Broadway cast member).

The show is written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine. Scenic design is by Beowulf Boritt, costume design is by Tony Nominee Gregory Gale, lighting design is by Jason Lyons, sound design is by Tony Nominee Peter Hylenski, and projection design is by Zachary Borovay.

ROCK OF AGES is produced on Broadway and world-wide by Matthew Weaver, Carl Levin, Jeff Davis, Barry Habib, Scott Prisand and Relativity Media.

ROCK OF AGES is currently rocking the USA in its first National Tour starring Constantine Maroulis. An Australian production is also set to open at the Comedy Theatre, Melbourne in April 2011.

Tickets to performances at The Helen Hayes are currently on sale via Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200 (outside the NY metro area (800) 432-7250.) Tickets will be available in person at the Helen Hayes Box Office on February 28, 2011. The performance schedule will be Monday at 8pm, Tuesday at 7pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm and Sunday at 3pm & 7:30pm.

MiG Ayesa (Stacee Jaxx). Born 12 January in Manila, Philippines. MiG's family moved to Sydney, Australia when he was aged 2, where he and his older brother Andrew were then raised. MiG attended St. Patrick's College, Strathfield and went on to study communications at Macquarie University, Sydney. During this time MiG was also a singer/songwriter forming several bands throughout the years, as he pursued his life-long dream of becoming a recording artist. At the age of 20, MiG landed an acting role that propelled his life on a very different course, taking him away from his studies and into acting in movies, theatre and television. In 2002, MiG and his wife Simone De La Rue, packed up their life and moved to London, England, UK in order to further pursue his dream of becoming a recording artist. In June 2005, while MiG was starring as ‘Galileo Figaro' in Queen's smash hit musical We Will Rock You, he was chosen to appear on the CBS television series ROCKSTAR:INXS, which brought him to Los Angeles, California, USA. Shortly after the finale, MiG and his wife packed up their life again and moved to L.A., upon his securing a major record deal with music giant Universal Music Group. In December of 2006, MiG's self titled debut CD was released in the Phillippines, then in Australia the following month. Then with the addition of three originally penned tracks it was released in the United States and Canada in April of 2007. In September of 2007, after moving to New York City, MiG took off again to reprise his role as ‘Galileo' for the International Tour of We Will Rock You. Along the way, MiG's debut CD continued to be released to coincide with the show's opening in each new territory (New Zealand, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand). The video for She Loved was also released and is now being aired on MTV Asia and Channel V. In September of 2008, MiG appeared in Handel's Messiah Rocks, which was released on CD/DVD fall of 2009, as well as airing as a PBS-TV special across the USA. In October of 2009, MiG launched the ‘call to arms' Global Campaign UNITED AS ONE, helping raise awareness and desperately needed funds to the people of the Philippines affected by Typhoon Ondoy. In January 2010, MiG made his Broadway debut in Burn The Floor, as well as in the months thereafter touring with the show to Australia, Japan, Korea, Canada, and USA. www.mig-music.com.
