ROCK OF AGES, the smash-hit 80's rock musical that has been deemed "Broadway's Biggest Party", will become Japan's Biggest Party when a new Japanese-language production of the show opens tonight, October 28 in Tokyo, Japan. The 21-performance run of ROCK OF AGES will begin at the Tokyo International Forum (October 28 to November 6; 14 performances) before traveling to Osaka (November 11 to 13; 5 performances) and Fukuoka (November 19; 2 performances). In addition to being a bona fide Broadway hit musical, where it has been rockin' New York audiences since 2009, ROCK OF AGES was a runaway success Toronto; just completed its 60-city, First National Tour starring original Broadway cast member and Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis; has productions running in Australia and in London's West End; and has licensed productions in several additional countries, including Korea and now Japan.

In the summer of 2012, the ROCK OF AGES phenomenon spreads from the stage to the screen, when New Line Cinema releases a film adaptation of the musical directed by Adam Shankman and starring Tom Cruise, Diego Boneta, Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Brian Cranston, Malin Ackerman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Paul Giamatti.

ROCK OF AGES is produced on Broadway and worldwide by Matthew Weaver, Carl Levin, Jeff Davis, Barry Habib, Scott Prisand and Relativity Media. The Tokyo engagement is also produced by Nippon Broadcasting Inc./ WOWOW. The Japanese license was arranged by Adam Gentle at the Broadway Asia Company.
