Philadelphia Theatre Company is bringing contagious laughter to the stage this summer with the hilarious comedy Long Story Short direct from Broadway starring Saturday Night Live and HBO comedian Colin Quinn running June 28 through July 10, 2011 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld, this satirical masterpiece explores a history of the world in 75 minutes that proves throughout human history, the joke has always been on us. With Long Story Short, PTC continues its annual summer comedy series, which begun in 2009 with Chicago's The Second City, as well as John Leguizamo.

The show opens Tuesday, June 28 at 8 PM with performances running Tuesday through Sunday until July 10 with an opening night on Wednesday, June 29 at 8 PM. Tickets are $51-$65, with discounts for students, seniors and groups. Tickets are available for purchase by calling the PTC Box Office at 215-985-0420 or visiting PhiladelphiaTheatreCompany.org.

Long Story Short is a laugh-out-loud comedy that skewers human civilization through a hilarious blend of incisive observation and sharp commentary. The show addresses contemporary issues and phenomena, including the economic crisis, the Middle East conflict and the always controversial "Jersey Shore" in addition to century old dilemmas dating back to the Ancient Greeks and beyond. Quinn, in his one-man performance, channels both famous and infamous personalities from Socrates to Snooki, turning humanity's mayhem and chaos into riotous laughter and amusement.
Colin Quinn is a performer who is known for tackling contemporary societal issues with satirical and sharp humor through his various Off-Broadway and television productions. A native of Brooklyn, Quinn is best known for his role as a cast member of the legendary Saturday Night Live where he entertained audience members for five seasons. After "SNL," Quinn produced "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn" and in 1994, starred in his first one-man show Sanctifying Grace Off-Broadway which was later produced as Colin Quinn- An Irish Wake at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Most recently, Quinn was seen in the Adam Sandler comedy film Grown Ups.
