ProArts Hosts Auditions For Upcoming Season 9/10-11

ProArts is happy to announce Open Auditions for our upcoming season of shows at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. Auditions will be held on September 10 & 11 for all three shows. Callback auditions will be held as needed

The Emperor's New Clothes
A new musical adaptation of the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Eight actors play all the roles in this "fractured fairy tale". The vain Emperor learns a good lesson about being himself thanks to a couple of lovable con-men, the not-so-bright Princess, and a bumbling staff who don't want to be labeled as fools.
4 men & 4 women.
Rehearsals begin October 1. There will be twelve rehearsals total. You must be a quick study. 8 singing roles.
Performances are from October 15-31. Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 4:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 & 4:00 pm

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Join Dorothy on her magical journey to the merry old land of Oz. On her journey to the Emerald City she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz can help before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up with them.
5 men & 4 women.
Rehearsals begin October 17. There will be thirteen rehearsals total. You must be a quick study.
Performances are from November 5-21. Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 4:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 & 4:00 pm.

The Fantasticks
The longest running musical in the world. The story unfolds: the starry-eyed boy and girl next door fall in love, yearn for the dangerous attractions of the world outside, then opt instead for fulfillment in each other's arms and in hearth and home. This legendary favorite features such great tunes as Try to Remember, Soon It's Gonna Rain, and I Can See It.,
6 men & 2 women
Rehearsals begin November 7. There will be 28 rehearsals total. You must be available to rehearse around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Performances are from December 10-19 and from January 7-16.
Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm. Also plays Thursday, January 13 at 7:30 pm. No performances during week before Christmas and week before New Year's.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Auditions for singers, actors and dancers ages 14 and up
Audition appointment required - Call 875-4367
Bring your current résumé and headshot.
Prepare a 2 minute vocal selection, preferably an up-tempo tune from a Broadway show.
Please bring your sheet music for the provided accompanist.
Readings will be available at audition time.
Stipend paid.
