The long-awaited, decade-delayed complete studio recording of Kurt Weill and Ogden Nash's celebrated cult musical ONE TOUCH OF VENUS is now available to preview byway of the overture in a just-released SoundCloud track generously made available by Jay Records.
The sparkling sounds of Weill's majestic and compelling score for the show are vocally rendered on the album by stars Melissa Errico, Brent Barrett, Judy Kaye, Victoria Clark, Ron Raines and more, yet this orchestral-only amuse bouche of the grand feast awaiting us in the entire forthcoming two-disc set is truly delectable, to say the very least.
Along with the sumptuous track, a posting alerts readers to the upcoming Kurt Weill ON BROADWAY celebration, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and featuring vocalists Errico, Barrett and Raines from the ONE TOUCH OF VENUS recording as well as Judy Blazer and more: "To celebrate the forthcoming concert performance of "Kurt Weill on Broadway" at Symphony Space New York on October 7th 2013, JAY Records will be releasing, on iTunes, the first complete recording of "One Touch of Venus"."

Of note, the musical theatre-centric label recently updated the page for ONE TOUCH OF VENUS on their website, offering a pre-order option and a cover image along with the note, "FINALLY ENTERING THE FINAL MIXING STAGE WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RELEASE OF ONE TOUCH OF VENUS".
Finally, indeed! The recording had originally been announced over ten years ago, so fans have been anxious for the release to be ready ever since. Those who have kept the faith shall be rewarded after all.
ONE TOUCH OF VENUS features music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Ogden Nash and a book by Nash and SJ Perelman.
